Proud to be outbreak free!

Okay, so I have to have a little random side note post right now. If you read my last post, you now know that I have shingles. My doctor said there were anti-viral medications I can take to help it clear up, and you can take them while you're pregnant with no side effects for the fetus. Perfect, right? So, they call in my prescription and Sam and I went to pick it up last night. The pharmacist is telling me how to take it, yada yada, and I pay and leave. I get out to the car to go ahead and take it, and on the bottle it says "Valtrex". That's right!!! Valtrex! You know the commercials: "I've been outbreak free for almost a year. Then my doctor tells me, you can spread herpes even when you don't have signs of an outbreak. That's why I take Valtrex!" I couldn't help but laugh. If you didn't already know, shingles - like chicken pox- is caused by the herpes virus. Just like cold sores. It really does make sense that valtrex would treat this, as it is an anti-viral medication, but it just came as such a shock! I was mortified and was wondering how many people in the pharmacy thought I had herpes, and just the thought of it made me laugh. It's really not a big deal, and it's really common so I'm sure they wouldn't have thought anything of it even if they DID think that, but it was amusing none-the-less. So that's all. Really nothing exciting to post, but I thought this was really funny and thought I'd pass it along. I'm the pregnant one on valtrex...everyone have a good laugh.
