Everyone has been asking me when this post was going to appear, and the answer my friends is TODAY!! A few weekends ago Sam and I hosted a Harry Potter costume party in honor of the 5th movie and last book coming out. Now, I will preface this by saying: I am a Harry Potter NUT and Sam is not. I have spent the last few years wanting to go to Hogwarts. I look outside periodically to see if there is an owl coming to bring me my letter declaring me a witch fit to study under Dumbledore. I crave magical foods that I have never had, nor could I imagine what they must taste like. When I can't reach the remote but I really want to change the channel, I try "accio" first before accepting that I'll really have to sit up and grab it. I have even fancied sharing a snog with Ronald Weasly. :) That being said, I would like to share with you the top 20 things I learned about the wizarding world through hosting my own magical party:
1. Pumpkin Pasties are as good as they sound!
2. Treacle tarts absolutely are not.
3. Professor Trelawny makes a more entertaining party guest than you would imagine.
4. Most of my friends are closet (or not so closet) Harry Potter fans.
5. Even people who aren't Harry Potter fans don't mind dressing up like they are.
6. Butterbeer is the most delicious beverage ever made.
7. Butterbeer is better warm. Unless you want it cold and then cold is better.
8. Fizzing wizbees are a fantastic treat and very fun to make (if you don't mind being sticky).
9. I am the Harry Potter Trivia champion of the world!
10. Celeste looks sexy with hot pink hair.
11. When Nicole stuffs her shirt she looks more pregnant than me.
12. Cody isn't sure he likes Nicole looking pregnant.
13. Nicole doesn't care.
14. Dave thinks the whole Harry Potter thing is dumb, but still "wore a costume" to be a good sport.
15. Sam did not.
16. I am the greatest Harry Potter Trivia player who ever lived!!!
17. Wizarding candy would be more fun if it did all the magical things it's supposed to do like make you levitate and make smoke come out your ears.
18. Thestral eggs make a delicious breakfast.
19. I kick butt at Harry Potter trivia!
20. Sam was wrong!!! People will come to a Harry Potter costume party!

Ok, just to clarify, I did wear a costum, but a sheet over your head is not very sociable, so I only wore it for pictures.
B: Apparently my wife is a pedaphile and wants to make out with a 13 year old red head boy.
and 3: I never said no one would come to the party, just that not every one would come who was invited because it was a Harry Potter party.
Hahaha! You're so cute my love. I love when you make lists like that with no congruencies between headings. Very fun.
How impressive, costumes were great and the food looked yummy. Did you find recipes for Harry Potter treats online or just use your imagination?

Harry potter is the bomb! Just to clarify about my wardrobe you commented on, I only shop the super sales and clearance rack at Ann Taylor Loft and Banana Republic Outlet aka Nanners. But I love target too!
