Walken and Wiig - the ambiguously hilarious duo!

This past Saturday's SNL was the best I've seen in quite some time. The host was Christopher Walken - my second favorite actor of all time. If you have never seen him host SNL, then you are really missing out. Also, you probably shouldn't be reading my blog because I don't really want friends who don't know the only prescription for my fever is more cow bell. Anyway, he did this skit about plants, and the whole first part about cactuses - or cacti - (whatever) pretty much echoed my exact sentiments for Arizona. The rest is really funny as well. I've watched it at least a dozen times now, and it just keeps getting funnier and funnier, despite the fact that Walken is very blantantly reading the cue cards. Ah, Walken. You can do no wrong. If you missed it, here it is:

Oh man! I hope you are laughing as hard as I am. He's right though, you really do have to watch out for those cactuses. They always go straight for the jugular!

And since we're on funny SNL skits, there was another that made me and Sam laugh pretty hard featuring Kristen Wiig. She is by far the funniest cast member on this current cast and her characters almost always bring me to tears. After seeing this skit, Sam proceeded to laugh about what a resemblance this character bore to yours truly. Sam always teases me about this, and those of you who know me can probably attest to the truth of this next statement, but apparently I tend to get a little overexcited about things that peak my interest. Shoes, food, tv shows and music, steak and plantain sandwiches, etc. Hopefully I'm not as out of control as this next clip, but if I am I apologize. Or maybe it just gives you a good laugh.

Yay! We thought you'd be loving these!!! I felt like I was smoking pot while watching the googly eye episode. And I don't think I've ever even smoked pot--it was that bizzare.

Good heavens!!! And I thought I was high-strung! How did you put the videos on your blog? I know how to add my own, but not from a different website.

Oh, and by the way, Carrot Day is from a few years ago when I was in Mormon Youth Chorus. We went on a tour to San Diego & before we got to the California state line, we had to get rid of all our produce. So one of the guys on our bus stood up and said "Does everybody know what day it is? ...CARROT DAY!!" We still had like 6 bags of carrots to go through, and only 30 people to eat them.

Oh, that plant one is sooo funny. And I am so glad I am still considered eligible to read your blog and be your friend! :) I love the cow bell skit. I crack up just thinking about it.

Hahahahahaha! My favorite was the monologue:

"I wrote all the questions"...

Guy in the audience asks pre-written question...

"That was the stupidest question!"

And then...

"I would be invisible and have the ability to fly, so I could fly into sliding glass doors, and make a big thump, and people would think a large bird had flown into the door, but then when they looked outside, there would be no bird." All while reading every word off a cue card.

And if you don't love Wiig as the "Target Lady", you can't be my friend. I say things like the Target Lady all the time to Michael.
"Oh, look at these amazing pants. These pants are so sassy. They would be great for a fansy dinner party or a trip to the doctor's. Where'd you find them?" And off I go... And "CANDLES!"

Shelley, you have never laughed until you've heard Sam's target lady impersonation. He does the whole skit about the wide selection of holiday candles. All with that ridiculous "accent" she has. Amazing.
