My little speckled boy

Things have been crazy around here. Good. But crazy. So I haven't really posted since the birth, and I apologize. There are more posts coming, I promise. I just haven't really found the time to sit and compose everything into anything congruent. Anyway, today I captured a video that was too cute not to share and since it was just one video I figured it should be easy to get it on here.

David has been sick lately. Sicker than he's ever been. He has vaccine measles, which means 103 degree fevers, runny nose, puffy eyes, and a miserable rash. He is pitiful. He has been so miserable that he didn't eat or drink anything for a little over 3 days. After I took him to the doctor and saw that he had dropped over 2 pounds, I decided I would let him have whatever he wanted, as long as it meant he would eat something. So out came the chocolate milk. And non diluted juices. And chicken nuggets (to be fair, they are made with canola oil and flax meal, so they're not SUPER horrible for him). And lastly, twizzlers. Now we don't give David sugar at home since we have two sets of grandparents here. You KNOW they give him sugar, and since they see him regularly, we figure he gets enough sugar from them. So when he's home we have a(kind of) strict no sugar policy. Unless he's sick. Then I'm a sucker. Hence the chocolate milk, undiluted fruit juice, and twizzlers.

Anyway, it worked. He ate everything I gave him. YAY! I took a video of him eating the twizzler because he has to work so hard to get a bite off. It was making me laugh. He's such a funny kid.

My favorite parts of the video: the fact that he says "cheese" at the beginning because he sees the camera and thinks I'm taking a picture; the fact that he swallows 2 bites of twizzler whole and it was obviously uncomfortable (yes, I did notice that); and the adorable way he says yellow. I am constantly amazed by what he knows. He also knows red, blue, and green. But yellow is his favorite. That's why he picked that color twizzler. I know there's no Trevor in the post, but I hope this will hold you all over until I find the time to do a big one. See ya!

Poor little David!! That is so sad! He is still soooo stinkin' cute--sick or not. Love the video--it is so funny. Good for you getting him to eat! I'd probably do the same thing.

What was I thinking, my absolute favorite is the 'what are you eating...ummhmm'-if you wanted to transition back to healthier would he go for fruit sticks (like fruit rollups)-easier to chew & swallow, although nowhere near as entertaining : )

Man David is so cute. I miss his cute face. I bet Trevor is getting so big. Sad news. We won't be able to make it down for Trev's blessing because Allen's nephew is being blessed the same day in Boise. But we will be down the week after. Love and miss you guys.
