End of bad hair days????

Recently (okay, almost a year ago) I had this cut:

I haven't cut it since. It has been hideous for about 5 months now, and I haven't worn it down in about 4. I desperately wanted to get it cut but I didn't want to spend the money, and I had NO idea what to do with it. It honestly just grew out into a mullet...I (un)fortunately have no pictures for you. I really really hated it...until this morning.

Today while David was taking a nap, I decided I had had enough of the hair from hell, and I was going to do something about it. So out came my razor and shears. It was actually a lot more difficult than I had planned...I usually trim my own hair, but this was a full on cut, ie. base, layers, texture, and fringe. I did the back in front of a mirror while holding another mirror to try to see what I was doing. It didn't work out to well, but once you make that first snip, there's no turning back. I tried to preserve as much length as possible, but seeing as it was a mullet and the front was considerably shorter than the back, I had to cut off about 3 inches from the back (nothing from the front) to even it out.

My SIL recently got these bangs:

She didn't know what to think of them but I thought they were H-A-W-T hot!!! And I (not so) secretly coveted them. So I decided to add them to my 'do. All in all, I think it turned out okay. Definitely better than what it was before. Anyway, here it is from all the angles:

What do you think? Is it too Darryl Hammond or Soccer mom? I can't decide. I really didn't have a whole lot of options. If you have any recommendations, I am fully willing to listen.

Anyway, these next photos are not meant to document the haircut, but something different entirely. I took a couple pictures before the final ones I used, trying to figure out the flash (I'm an idiot) and where to look. Don't mind me in these pictures. Just look behind me to the towel rack. Someone was busy.

I love your hair!!!

The only reason I think you're pregnant is a) I had 2 dreams about it and b) you said in your last post that you've been sick.

hahahahaha! darryl hammond! no, i think it's cute. although i really liked it back in sept and didn't think it looked like a mullet. maybe it looked like a mullet more recently. but you did a good job layering and keeping it even and i like the bangs. but anything you do with your hair is going to look cute and trendy, even if it's a mullet!!

laughed out loud at the towels mysteriously disappearing. and your faces and the flash. and the little chubby hand visible in one of the shots pulling the towels down. and footie jammies.

yay for sister updating her blog so frequently lately!!!! keep up the good work!!!!!

Is changing you hair often liberating? I haven't changed mine for ten years and I would really like to. The only problem is that I cry afer every snip, every trim, after even thinking about changing my hair. I need courage.
We like the new do.

I like the new hair, but more importantly I like the bluesteel type of poses you are making. Haha. and David is the cutest baby ever... and I'm not just saying that because I'm his favorite aunt.

You look GREAT! You always do though--You can pull off pretty much any cut. You're just so beautiful! I am so impressed that you cut your own hair. So, yah, I did the same exact thing--I didn't cut my hair since before Jadyn was born (until this past Saturday)--which I think is around the same time you cut yours. It was awful. I guess babies will do that to the best of us. :)

What a little cutie he is...that innocent look...what...who, me? And his mom would look beautiful with her head shaved, but I like the cut...excellent job, especially doing it to yourself!

Shannon your hair looks great! You make me want to chop mine. Also, thank you, thank you for the sweet gift. The little soft blanket/toy is adorable...I love that David picked it out. And I am so excited to try out the baby food maker. Thank you so much! You guys are so thoughtful.
